The hypocrisy of the Chris Marquette message board rules

Message Board Policy on Spam
Please note that we're checking whether newly registered users are listed in the stopforumspam.com database (either e-mail address or IP). Users that are listed there are deleted by default. If you are accidentally listed in that database and would like to register as a user on our message board, please e-mail us and we will make sure you get an account here. Actual spam posts and the corresponding users are deleted without warning. Also, spammers registering on our forum who is not yet entered on stopforumspam.com will be added by us.

OK, so the Spam policy seems good, no problems at all with that.

Respect the people around you
Be respectful to fellow posters and everyone else. No slashing, trashing or bad-mouthing will be allowed here. There is no need to insult anyone in public, neither people you know in person nor those you don't. If you feel you need to get into verbal fights or need to speak badly of someone, do it off this board in private. If you absolutely must utter criticism, do it constructively and considerately.

This is the biggest piece of hypocrisy on their message board.
On the face this seems reasonable, but far from it. One of the big problems is that they (the owners of the site) can trash and bad mouth any person they wish. If they don't like a certain actor they will trash them at will. And if you come to this actors defense, they will trash you too.

One of the co-owners is known for this if anyone brings up Shia LaBeouf. She is known on their by the name of TheCentralScutinizer. In the past she has called him childish names as Sheephead. Sure, it's ok to not like an actor, but comments like that aren't constructive or considerate. Fact is that it's an insult.

So the co-owners don't even follow their own rules, that's the hypocrisy.

Go easy on the emoticons
Emoticons (smileys) can be a great way to express what you're thinking/feeling. But use too many, it can get really annoying (especially if they're animated). Please don't use too many emoticons in your threads. Even if you're laughing out loud, rolling on the floor about something, two or three of them in a row will more than suffice. Emoticons are means to underline someone's emotions (hence the name), but they're not meant to spam the board with little smiley faces.

No comment on those since I don't use them.

What to talk about
This is a Chris Marquette board. Thus the subject that we talk about is him and his projects. There is an off-topic area where you can post anything that's on your mind (unless it's disrespectful). We're not limiting the board to any subjects that can be talked about, so feel free to let everyone know the things you want to share. But please pay attention that you post in the right sections. If you have something to say about one of Chris's movies, take it to the "All About Chris" or "Chris On Screen" thread and not the "Joan of Arcadia" one. Of course there might be overlapping here and there (and that's fine), but threads that don't belong will be moved.

Ok, all well and good. However it seems that you must not only be familiar with Chis Marquette but you must also worship him as if he's the greatest actor alive. The rabid fangirls who run this site and the message board expect everyone who wishes to join to be the same like they do. They say that they don't limit the subjects, ah but they do. If all you do is post in another section of their message board and never post anything at all about their adored Chris Marquette you will be punished, perhaps even banned.

Also they bring up being disrespectful, and again here is the hypocrisy. They can be as disrespectful to celebrities, politicians and other users, but dare to utter anything negative about Chris and you will be treated harshly.

Basically if they don't like you and think that you aren't the stans that they are of Chris Marquette they will censor you and ban you.

Throw away the key
Threads that the moderators think are going nowhere or have been commented on enough will be locked. Meaning that no more replies to this post may be added. If you feel like you absolutely need to reply to a locked post, ask the moderators to unlock it. If a thread has been locked, we kindly ask you not to open another thread with the same subject.

Meaning that if they don't like the subject matter of the thread they will lock it and censor any further discussions of a similar nature.
But I have never seen them lock a thread that one of the co-owners have ever created.

Making yourself look unique
Signatures can be used on this board, and feel free to use one. But, please, we ask you to not make it too big or too flashy. Blinking on-and-off animated banners can be really annoying and those that are too big will have to make you scroll for ages to read the next post. Please think a moment about what you want to say in your signature with as little words/pixels as possible.

But the co-owners post stupid pics of Chris Marquette in their signatures all the time.

BRB, ROFLOL and BTW
We know that in this fast-lived world of e-mailing, text-messaging and IM'ing, acronyms become more and more popular and people seem to care less and less about spelling. However, please consider that we have international visitors here who might not be as familiar with the English language as a native speaker. Not using any punctuation and using only lower case letters and lots of confusing abbreviations might make things hard to read for certain people. Please consider that when you post.

Funny how one of the co-owner is from Germany and demands that everyone post in English. Also strange in that they have an entire section in German.

IMDB Review

IMDB (Internet Movie Database) is the premier movie database. It's an almost complete database of movies and TV series. It does contain some errors, but what database doesn't.

Plus you can view loads of photos from movies/tv series as well as celebrities both in front of and behind the camera. Also available is complete episodes.movies for viewing online.

For the database section I would rate it an A.

The message boards seems to be overrun by teenagers or young people with little to do. Many posts border on childish and immature too. Almost every single movie message board will contain at least one "The worst Movie ever" thread. Plus you have people on there that are there to only attack other users instead of discussing entertainment related subjects in a rational manner.

I say stay clear of the message boards unless you wish to subject yourself to that sort of thing.

This is the site for the DVD inventory program that I use for my DVD collection. I think it's the best DVD inventory program on the market today.

It's a well laid out site that is very user friendly.

You can learn more about the program and it's features as well as download a trial version of the program too.

If you're already a user of the program then the most useful portions of the site are the following.

My Profiler which basically allows users to set their settings, view messages, view the status of any of their own contributions and even view their own collection online.

Database which allows users to vote on contributions and to also view their own contributions. Also provides links to the Contribution rules and a Credit Lookup Tool.

Forums: From a newbie to a long time user this is the place to ask questions about contributions and to help others who maybe confused about a certain credit or aspect of the program. The users are extremely helpful.


Not only is the program first rate, but so is the website.

Chris-Marquette.com Review

If you are a fan of Chris Marquette then this is one of the best sites for you to visit.
It has loads of info about him and his career. Plus tons of pictures of the actor, some of which are exclusive to the site.

For that portion of the site I give it a solid A-.


However, the bad part of the site has to be the forum. Which can be found at the following link.

Except for a few die-hards on the forum, there are actually very few that post of the forum.
The message board can go hours without a single posting and according to the bottom there are at times as many as around a hundred people who aren't even members who are just lurking there.
The die-hards tend to be mostly female and are real die-hard fans of Chris. At least one member can't stand a certain actor and if you bring him up you will likely get into a fierce and mean debate that could result in being banned.
They claim to allow all types of posting on their message board, but the reality is far from it. It seems that you are required to actually be a fan of Chris Marquette before you can join and post on their message board. If you aren't and don't post about him and only post about entertainment related subjects then you are disliked.

Most of the actual members are quite nice and polite, it's the administrators who I found to be unprofessional, rude and self-righteous. It's their behavior that really speaks volumes and in a way tarnishes any good will that Chris may have gained with me.

And one of the moderators recently posted this about censorship on their board.
"He specifically thinks we censor people we don't like. Well, yes we do."

I wouldn't recommend the message board section of their site at all.
